Thank you to the many people who have said that ‘Howdy’ is not used as a formal greeting any more. But it can be used as an informal one, as a way of greeting a person in a fun way. As I found out for myself !

You’re welcome = Bitte (You could also use “Gern geschehen”, but I forgot to mention it…. meh… sorry, stupid me, will add it next time. But “bitte” is perfectly correct. Duh!)
