    I don’t think it’s as hard as everyone is saying. You just have to memorize it. I know there are Germans who have learned English very quickly, and it is considered the hardest language to learn.

    It is quiet “easy” when you use “die” before the plural noun, whereas the single noun, they can use der, die, das……Besisdes the genitive words like Male, Female and neutural, I really get confused for When these people use such der/die/das ie) Buch use das,( that’s fine), why can’t it be “das Roman” ‘cos this object doesn’t contain any genitive form.

    In english, theres just the word “The”.

    In german we have das, die and der instead of the.

    You just can memorize, wich one is for wich noun.

    @melbourneopera as I have learned (atleast I think I have learned something) das is like the -in english like ” the car ” and in german ” das auto “, and Die is used with plurals.. now to lesson numbeeeer 4 :)

    Hello, the letters …
    Hello, the letters -s and -(e)s are genitive singular endings. This will be explained in lesson 4.
    The entry “der Roman, -s” means the genitive singular is “Romans”.
    The entry “das Buch, -(e)s means the genitive singular can be “Buchs” or “Buches”.
